AGILE has funds ring-fenced in an 'Education Fund' for members to apply for as a source of money when undertaking study

In addition to this, we often are offered sums of money/free places for specific courses from affiliated organisations, or to enable members to present papers at large Conferences

Education fund

The AGILE Education Fund is open to all members. To get a copy of the Education Fund Application Form (Word doc- 34kb) please read the conditions below.

Please read the following conditions which apply to all Education Funding:

  1. £600 per annum from AGILE income will be placed in an "Education Fund"
  2. Up to three awards may be made annually.
  3. Applicants shall have been a member of AGILE for at least two years.
  4. The work/course/conference, etc for which funding is being sought must be shown to be linked to physiotherapy with the older person.
  5. Applications for the award should be in writing to the Treasurer. The application form issued requires detailed information of the work/course being undertaken and references
  6. All work submitted for, or produced, as a result of the work/course should acknowledge financial assistance from AGILE Education Fund
  7. Recipients of the award will be asked to produce an article for AGILE's journal AGILITY and may be asked to present at the annual conference on completion of their work/course
  8. The National Committee reserves the right to:
    • decide the recipient (s) of the award.
    • Consider the merit of each application.
    • Determine the level of the award
    • Consider what would happen if a recipient does not undertake or complete the work/course for which funding has been given
  9. Applications are considered all year round at the quarterly committee meetings (Applications earlier in the year have less chance of being refused because the ring fenced money has been used up)
  10. The annual award is to be a standing item on the agenda of the Annual General Meeting.

In the event of the full sum allocated not being utilised this will forwarded to the ensuring year.

Research fund

Please read the following conditions which apply to all Research Funding:

  1. £600 per annum from AGILE income will be placed in a “ Research Fund”.
  2. Generally three awards may be made annually.
  3. Applicants shall have been a member of AGILE for at least two years.
  4. The research project. for which funding is being sought must be shown to be linked to physiotherapy with the older person.
  5. Applications for the award should be in writing to the Research Officer. The application form issued requires detailed information of the research being undertaken and references.
  6. All work submitted for, or produced, as a result of the research should acknowledge financial assistance from AGILE Research Fund.
  7. Recipients of the award will be asked to produce an article for AGILITY and may be asked to present at the annual conference on completion of their work/course.
  8. The National Committee reserves the right to:
    • decide the recipient(s) of the award
    • consider the merit of each application
    • determine the level of the award
    • consider what should happen if a recipient does not undertake or complete the research for which funding has been given
  9. The Research award is to be a standing item on the agenda of the Annual General Meeting
  10. In the event of the full sum allocated not being utilised this will be forwarded to the ensuing year.
  11. On completion of the research project, a report will be produced by the recipient for the AGILE.
  12. This award is not available retrospectively for a study already being undertaken.
